We were down ther last week.[ fordingbridge] Good value for money was the heavy horse centre and adventure wonderland .We were two families with 5 children between us 4,5,6,7, and eight they all enjoyed both. Also went to Beaulieu motor museum which was not quite such good value for money and because of the weather the mono-rail was closed.

We live just down the road from this site! Nearest shops are a 10 minute walk from site. Train station near site so can get to Bournemouth, Southampton easily without using car. Just outside Ashurst on road towards Southampton is longdown Dairy farm great for younger children. Beaulieu about 20 minutes drive away. Hythe farry a good cheapish trip across to Southampton and back. Nice playground in Mayflower park just along from where ferry lands. Maritime Museum in that area too and free! Lepe beach not far, stony but sand in patches and views to Isle of Wight and of big boats coming in and out. ferry to Isle of Wight possible but expensive for car from Southampton.. Lyndhurst  has cycle hire as has Brockenhurst. new Forest Museum at Lyndhurst. Forest walks all round. Hope the weather gets better!
