Feared much worse starting to read this.

How strange - it must have thought you were threatening it somehow (do they still have chicks at this time of year?) or maybe it's like they say about midges - there's some scent you give off that they object to - not meaning to give any offence here   - couldn't have liked it's picture taking wihtout being paid for it (could be a celebrity pheasant!!)

I'd avoid swans if i were you - they can get nastly and break limbs if you're unlucky.

the spurs certanily look as if they could do a lot of damage not familiar with that type of pheasant but they are normally such a stupid bird
