We're looking at going away at Xmas this year.  Never done it before although hubby wanted to go away last year as we'd upgraded and got a newer 'van.

We're looking at Setthorns which is near New Milton (part of the Forest Holidays Group).  I've had a look at the reviews but there's only 1 for this year.

Has anyone stayed here during the Winter months and/or Xmas time? 

Or can anyone else recommend a site about 2 hrs towing time from North Wilts (we live about 4 miles from the M4). EHU is a must and the site must also accept dogs.

We stayed at Setthorns a few years ago between Christmas and New Year.

It was lovely and ,being quite a stoney site, everywhere seemed nice and dry.

I remember the electric went off a few times in the evening but was soon back on again, I think being winter it was getting a bit overloaded, but don't let that put you off, they might not even get this problem anymore.

It's a lovely quiet site and I'd highly recommend it for a winter break, especially as you have dogs, the walking is lovely and not too muddy, if I remember correctly.

I think they get booked up quickly for Christmas and New Year so I'd get booked in ASAP if you decide to go there,

We checked out availability on their website a couple of days ago - they have both Premium pitches (with EHU) and Select pitches (with EHU but larger) available at the moment.  We're a little undecided and just holding fire before making a decision.

The site sounds lovely for a nice quiet relaxing break.
