Hi everyone, I'm new to ukcampsite, and caravanning in general, however I have bought a sterling europa and when I get my new car with tow-bar fitted we will be raring to go. My wife myself and grand-daughter went to see a couple of friends with a tourer on brownrigg site in bellingham on Saturday just to have a look as we would have been staying there when mobile. A woman dashed out of the office, asked us what we wanted and when I explained we were visiting told me we were not allowed to park (though there was lots of space) and that we must drive a half mile to the village, park there and come back! I explained that I was disabled and have a badge which cut no ice, no chance of parking. So this was probably the shortest visit to friends we had ever made. What worries us is are all site owners/wardens like this or were we just unlucky? Michael.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
If you are going onto a site to visit someone it is courtesy to check that the wardens do not mind. Some places do charge for visitors. Most will be absolutely fine, especially if you want to look around, but perhaps cos you hadn't checked in with the warden you got her back up?
