I see that Lady's Mile campsite in Dawlish have requested that no review facility be made available. This is presumably because the place is a dump. It reads well in the advertising blurb but campers are packed in like sardines. When you arrive you aren't allocated a pitch but told to 'go and find a pitch on the top field [or wherever]. There are adequate shower blocks and the pool is good for children but during torrential rain quite a number of pitches were flooded.

All in all a horrible experience. No wonder they don't want a review facility in the Camp Site Search section.

If negative comments are legitimate, can someone please tell why they should not be posted.

I have noticed a few camp sites request no reviews but have never understood why UKCS honours such a request.

Is it a legal thing?

I find posts/reviews left by members invaluable.

There are just 13 sites which do not allow reviews, out of over 6,000 we list.

If we had a choice you'd be able to leave them for all, but as it's such a tiny percentage, you can draw your own conclusions over whether you want to visit a site which does not allow reviews.

Fortunately doing a simple search on the forum will reveal masses of previous threads about Ladys Mile http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/search.asp?search=lady&searchMode=allwords&searchIn=Topic&forum=4 with positive and negative comments.

If there are no reviews allowed then i see that as a sign that they won't want my review added which can only mean that i wouldn't like the site.
