Me and a mixed group of about 10 people (including a couple of kids) are looking to go away for a weekend in October to the Lake District.  As large groups are usually my idea of hell on earth to camp next to ive no idea where would accept us, has anyone any experience of this and can recommend anywhere either in the Lakes or somewhere nice near a pub within 2 hrs drive of Leeds???? Thanks again for your help!

Allan

Might be worth phoning Castlerigg Hall - I believe they have a field set aside for 'rallies' and small groups.

Or they might even accept you in their camping field if you are the 'right' mix at that time of year.

No, really?!

Try the Wheatsheaf in Low Lorton, the best area in the Lakes. It's actually in the back of the pub

National Trust Site at Langdale has a group site and there are three pubs that you can walk to.

You don't need to be a member to go there.
