Sheepcote is just down the road from one of the roughest estates in Brighton - Withdean. My brother has just managed to move out. I certainly wouldn't want to leave something big and valuable unattended there. When we went to the Marina last month, the Asda was full of nasty types from the estate, and it looked like a concrete jungle. Apparently the council has given permission for a travellers site nearby.
I really would do a search for somewhere more towards Worthing or Eastbourne. The countryside of the Downs is just lovely, and there seem to have been plenty of sites, judging by the number of signs.

Check out the reviews for Sheepcote Valley. The surrounding area may not be desirable, but I found it a well run site and well placed for visiting Brighton. (Stayed there in August).

I have stayed on sheepcote twice this season, both times no problems at all, will be going back, very well run site, a credit to the C.C.

I think that you mean Whitehawk estate as Withdean is a very nice estate about 4 miles from the site.

Sheepcote did have a bad reputaion when it was a municipal site but when the C.C. took over it made a great deal of difference and is OK now

stayed at Sheepcote many times  ,excellent site no problems at all  with Site Wardens or surroundings  ,People ,houses etc on nearest estate look clean and tidy,    Been to the Marina and Shopping area  often never seen any Nasty Types yet. but what is classed as Nasty types?

Sheepcote Valley was where we went for our 1st ever trip away in our caravan and we loved it even though it was a week before christmas 2005 and the water pipes froze lol
