Hello all,

Forgive me if this subject has been broached before, but my wife and I are looking for somewhere to disappear with our caravan to over the yuletide season. We would rather the UK as there is the subject of fiscal constraints and probably not on top of a mountain with the rest of the world a thousand miles away.

Last year we spent the New Year at Briarfields in Cheltenham, which was all we could wish for; fairy lights around the caravans etc, but would like to try somewhere different this year.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated (as would a nearby pub)

Thanks in advance,

Stuart.

Yup, sound like my sort of christmas too, especially if you drop the pub bit and include a fishing beach in its place. (Place, Cod, Flounders, I aint particular) <G>.

Hi Stuart welcome to the site.

There are a lot of nice sites that are open at xmas, but I speak from experience when I say if you find somewhere that looks like it will suit you, BOOK IT. Sites get so busy at Xmas and New Year and the good ones are always booked year to year.

I am sorry I can't reccommend anywhere as the sites that I have been to over that period are already full but all I can suggest is look on the camp site search for the area you would like and start ringing round.

Good luck hope you find somewhere nice.

We went to the Forestry Commission site at Beddgelert one year and it was lovely. Nothing happening on the site itself but a nice walk into the village where the pubs were open on Christmas Day.
