As my negative review of this site has yet to be published, I thought that I had better warn anybody that may be going or thinking of going.

Although I had a number of complaints regarding this site, my main concern was the complete lack of security, the main entrance from the main road is a tree lined drive, no gate, no barrier and no security, meaning that anybody could just drive or walk onto the site and no-one would know if they are staying on the site or not.

The other entrance is on the promanade, and is a very tall large gate that gets locked at 9pm, again, anybody is free to walk through this gate and onto the site, and why it is locked at 9pm I will never know, as you could just walk around it, over the grass hump and in :o(

The site has no fencing around its perimeter, only bushes and hedges that has lots of gaps to get through.

We stayed on a euro pitch, that I must say was very nice, but, no lights were working around our pitch meaning that it was very dark, we also never saw a security patrol the whole weekend that we stayed.

On returning to our van in the evening following a day out, the people on the next pitch came out asking if we had seen anything/anyone hanging around as someone had been in their awning taking over £1500 worth of fishing gear, we said that we had been out all day but would check to see if anything had been taken from our awning, we looked and yes someone had been in, taking two expensive cakes that we had left on the table (LOL OH was not happy), we didnt notice if anything else had gone, but as we have so much stuff in there I dont suppose we will notice until we go to get something and its gone lol.

We reported it to reception who didnt seem at all interested, and I have emailed head office, but as yet have not had a reply. Talking to people that have seasonal pitches it seem common that awnings/tents are broken into.

So if you have booked or planning on booking I would say leave nothing of value in your units :o(

All of the haven sites I've been to look at seem the same, open entrance straight on to the touring/camp site. In fact my brother stayed at one last bank holiday, we went to visit him and pulled up in a empty pitch next to him and stopped the night, no-one asked anything, no-one challenged us I bet I could have even used the EHU and got away with it, I saw no security or wardens and the back of that site was also unsecure, Haven dont care, it's not their stuff being nicked the only thing they would care about is if you showed any interest in a static....

I must admit my mate felt very vunerable at a Haven site - we have our caravan at Unity in Brean and that seems to be pretty good

While all that may be true, if I had £1500 worth of fishing gear (or anything really) I certainly wouldn't leave it lying unattended in an awning.

I think it all depends on the site, whether its Haven or not.We have been to two Haven parks this year Kiln Park and Hafan y Mor, Kiln Park being the better of the two. Both had security and barriers on the entrance but only Kiln Park had security patrols going around the tourers and statics day and night.Plus i've never seen so much security in the Funworks/clubs but at Hafan y Mor they seemed to have less security and not really bothered.

Last year we went to Trevornick and all was well at the weekend security at entrance and patrolling around site but Monday to Friday you never saw anyone untill 7.00pm - 11.00 and then they put the barriers up for the night. Towards the end of our holiday we did hear about things being nicked like aqua rolls etc but thankfully nothing of ours went missing, and this is a touring and camping site only.It can happen anywhere unfortunately
