It is my 40th next year, in December. I have decided I want to have my party in late summer/early Autumn and preferably in a campsite. Just before Christmas is a horrible time to have a birthday party!!!

What I am looking for is a campsite which is prepared to give me exclusive use for me and my group. We could be looking at 30+ pitches.

OK, that is a large group, and it will include a lot of kids. I am lucky enough to have that many friends, most of whom are happy to camp. Others of whom will probably be prepared to 'rough it' for my sake. Although if the site has a few log cabins/tipis/yurts they could rent that would be even better. Toilets would be required, because apart from my mother in her tatty old campervan, most of us will be in tents.

But ideally we should be away from others we can disturb - we are mostly 40-something professional people, but will hopefully be in a celebratory mood, so can't promise to be quiet, and I might even be looking into a folk band coming along to play for a bit.

A site for a bonfire would just be the icing on the cake, but I can't have everything.

Am I shooting for the moon here, do such campsites exist?

Location - I am in East Anglia, but a lot of my friends are in the Midlands, so really anywhere within reach for a weekend would be acceptable. Much as I love Scotland, this would be slightly too far away, but the Welsh borders would be fine. Devon or the South Coast would also be a bit out of reach,

Any suggestions would be very gratefully recieved.

Arwen

I should imagine that any commercial campsite that has the number of pitches you are requiring, would be approachable to have an exclusive booking for one party.

Afterall, it is in their interests to fill the site and I am sure that if they could do that with just one booking, they would be climbing over themselves to accommodate you.

Good luck.

Brilliant, some good ideas here, but keep 'em coming as the more choice the better.
The lack of a clubhouse is only a bonus in my opinion. Showers, loos and campfires sounds idyllic to me!! I will deinitely be looking up Manor Farm, although it might be a bit far unfortunately.
Thanks loads,
Arwen

In June 07 a group of us stayed here at Conwy

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2759

The site is massive and we had our own section near the entrance well away from other campers but with a lovely toilet/shower block just behind.

The statics and clubhouse were about a mile away up the road. Its a big site.

We had fires and ventured into the woods to cut branches down, one of the guys had tools in his van and blow torch to get the fire started.
