Really beautiful pics tigermouse......... did you think that when the baby seals cry it sounds like they are saying mum? very moving isn't it seeing nature so close it blows me away every time
Yes, the very young ones do sound like they are say 'mum' It makes me smile the way they seem to spend so much time fast asleep lying on their backs - it makes me want to tickle their tummies!
It was an absolutely amazing experience - and I think a great privelage - to be able to walk among them and get so close to them, not just the baby seals but the big ones as well.
It's a funny thing, but before we went I told OH I was going to make the most of the weekend because 'a seal is a seal, they all look the same and when I've photgraphed one lot I'll never need to do it again'. But guess what? - having now seen them I've just got to go back next year!
With this being the first time we've been I've looked on the weekend rather as a learning curve where my photography is concerned, so next year I'll be striving for some even better photos. Maybe we'll go a couple of weeks earlier next time - last weekend must have been the coldest weekend of the year so far and we couldn't have any proper heat in the awning because the site electrics kept blowing - we were freezing!

We are going next weekend, not staying in the caravan though. Going to go early and like you take some pics! , Don't think my pics will be as good as yours though. The seals will be gone soon. I have been at christmas a few times in the past and there is usually a couple of babies waiting to go but all the others had gone
I know it's daft, but seeing the ones that have got to the age where their mothers have left them, I feel so sorry for them lying there all on their own. Makes me feel rather sad for them, but that's just me being soppy!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I know what you mean it gets me every time, they look too young and tiny to be left on their own, especially when they look for their mum. But that is nature for you It is just us humans who keep their children for years oh and years, even when they marry and have children!
