Hi any of you anglers out there .... can you recommend a good site with fishing and something to entertain the kids. Not looking to go to a Havens type site. Just need a site with a couple of lakes and somehwere the kids can play, maybe some evening entertainment.
As always it falls to me to book a holiday, so if i get it wrong i never hear the end of it lol
There are hundreds of suitable sites, you can research them from using the Advanced Search to find sites that offer fishing. Once you have found them , you will be able to read visitor reviews on them
Im on this site at the moment http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=horns+dam&by=sitename plenty of fish, just been stood outside 9.00pm carp are rolling on all three lakes, not bad for November, but not much for kids to do, but Blackpool only 15 mins away. Reviews are a bit out of date, i posted one about 6 weeks ago but as yet it hasn't been listed.
You could try Charity Farm at Wrightington near Wigan - four good fishing lakes so hubby will be happy but nothing on site for kids, although it's not far from camelot theme park and other attractions.
Alternatively Abbey Farm at Ormskirk, only one fishing lake but lots of things on site for kids - even though we don't have kids it's on our list of sites to visit in the near future.
Both of these are in campsite search and both have websites.

We've stayed at a place called Borowaters in Southminster, Essex. It has a great lake for fishing, and people often stay over there overnight. It has a massive field, so kids can run around in, play with kites etc, however, literally nothing else. They do have a web page, have a look and see what you think.
Hi Deers glade near cromer has a large fishing pond but at the back of the site was a massive lake, they dont have any entertainment on site but they will transport you and the family to the local pub for free of an everning will be ging back this year though i dont actually fish just laze and drink lol
this group of parks are all based at Woolacombe, i am sure one of the parks has fishing. Each park has its own facilities but you can use them all. Everyone varies slightly, one has golf etc..
