Are there any suitable campsites for couples anymore? All the sites I look at are either massive all singing all dancing or just a field with a loo and tap! We're both in our mid 40's and the children no longer holiday with us. So we begrudge paying for facilities that we are never going to use. All we really want is a small/medium size site with maybe a small shop and a bar on it so we can have a drink in the evening without having to drive if we feel like it. But I don't think these types of sites exist anymore. I quite like the idea of Cornwall or North Devon next year but I'm getting a headache looking at all the websites!

Much as I don't mind kids around, been there, done that! We do try to stick to early July mainly because it's quieter and cheaper. I bet I'm not the only one looking for this sort of site.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

have a look at ross park, mid devon, very nice, has a bar and serves food, but you would have to check when the bar is opened, I think mainly in mid to high season.

If you are willing to travel right down into South Cornwall then Gwithian Farm is the site for you. No facilities on site other than small shop, good showers and toilets and a pub opposite the site entrance. We go there quite often and dont know of many other sites to match it. Take a look at the reviews.

If you go to the Campsite search, there is an advanced search thingy that lets you choose adults only sites. We use it lots!

Have you thought of looking at come of the 5 pitch CL's, there are quite a few with toilet facilities and some are in villages near pubs, They are generally really quiet and are in some great locations.
