have a look at this one people have mentioned having large tents - we have the tourist 12xp too but have never had a problem with taking the tent on any site - we loved the tent it's so spacious and easy to erect

We backpacked around the coastal path on the Island this summer so we stayed at a whole range of different sites. Here are a few that may be OK, depending on what you like.  We only had our little pack backing tent but a lot of them were pitch where you like type sites rather than having set pitches which I tend to find are more accepting of big tents.  We stayed at Old Barn Touring.  It is a lovely site with a barn containing a games room and TV etc and a pond as well as nice clean facilities.    We stayed at Chine Farm, which is actually on the coastal path if that appeals.  It is more basic site but good clean facilities. We also stayed at a tiny, very pretty CS site (http://www.siteseeker.co.uk/aspx/details.aspx?id=196242&currentPage=0) which again probably be OK with a big tent but the only facility was 1 loo so good if you like it basic.

At the opposite end of the spectrum Nodes Pont  has a big camping field without marked pitchs so might do.  It has a bar, entertainment and a swimming pool.  We also stayed at Heathfield Farm which is a farm site, again no marked pitches.

I hope some of this helps.

Give Whitefield Forest and Beaper farm a call.

Depends on your taste in sites, but they both pleased me.

Hi,

We stayed here last year:
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=3105

and we loved it!  Strange in that the camping field is sloped such that the only bit that people camp on is in a line, running along the boundary hedge.  This leaves the rest of the sloping field open for games and kids to run around in.  We were there in a campervan with a fairly large awning, I don't imagine they would have any issues with a large tent.  Location wise was great too, right next to compton beach, you can access the beach on foot, just out of the campsite, cross the road then follow the path down.  Compton beach was supposedly the best on the island for surfing, or bodyboarding which is what we spent hours every day doing!

Oops have rambled on for a bit....  lovely site basically!

Hope that's helpful.

Jo.
