Could any member put me in the right direction in which area to book a caravan in at haggerston castle please, i am looking for a quite area away from the show bar and away from traffic, a nice cul - sac would be nice.
Also is there a web site or link page where i can see the layout of where the caravans are i.e. Lakefield, lakeside east, lakeside north, etc
thanks

there is signage up as you enter the site and a touring reception which was not manned at all last easter for the whole week we were there if no one is there you need to book in at the main part the touring area is well away from everything so no worries there but avoid the service pithches unless its dry they have virtually no drainage and are like a bog the best place is the old touring area behind the reception cabin

We stayed there in November in a static which was near the touring part although did not really look round the touring site we did drive past as we were in the 'woodside' bit... just from an aesthetic point of view the pitches on the left of the area as you look on the map that I've just found looked nicer as they had trees round the side and just looked a bit nicer than the rest of the field where the pitches were in rows. ... just editing to say the touring part is on the top left of the map woodside is on the right and that (and all other named areas I think) are statics.. the section behind the stables.. you can see the shower symbols on there but it is not particularly well labelled on the map... hope you find it helpful anyway ..
We went to haggerston castle last year and i didnt know you could pick where you wanted to pitch we didnt get asked just told where to go.
We like sites with lots to do as we have 2 small children who need lots of things to keep them occupied, but my hubby hated this site and has told me never to ask to go again as the answer would be no!! Wed couldnt get in the swimming pool as it was always full and they only let a certain amount of people in, the staff were not friendly or helpful what so ever and the touring part was cramped and the toilets, showers etc were filthy!
If you havent already booked dont bother would be my opinion!

Touring area is away from the showbar and normally out of peak season you can pick your own pitch. We go every year and we all enjoy it but it has alot of bad reviews. We have never found the staff particularly rude or showers filthy, but each to there own.
I went to haggerston last year and hated every minute of it. Toilets etc were disgusting and facilites were over crowded. If you have a choice go somewhere else.
Area around the camp stunning though.

Too many big parties go with sole intention of drinking all the lager in the world in one week - you really don't want to be close to them, campers they aint!
