Just booked Easter here as it gets good reviews on this site. It has TV hook up but I've never had this before - does anyone know if I need any particular cables for this?

Not been to hill of oaks but usually you just need a length of aeriel cable with a plug at either end, i think that you can buy them ready made for a tenner or so at most sites thst have the tv hook-ups. A friend of mine has been there & says it is an excellent site, I however, am a bit of a tight**se so will have to take his word for this!!Hope you have a good time, in my experience Easter tends to be blessed with good weather in the lakes so you may well be lucky.
Thanks for that, looks like a cable through the window job unless I can find a better route.
We had a week in the Lakes at Easter two years ago and had fantastic weather. Our friends went to Barcelona the same week and had rain all week - Tee Hee, shouldn't laugh.
Isn't Hill of Oaks the site at the bottom of the road up to Park Cliffe and just beyond that the Scouts campsite with the big tower thing.
Only mentioning it because I noticed your scouts flag - sorry nothing to do with your op
If it is that site then it is a very nice site in a beautiful location.

Yes it's very close to the Scout Camp Site at Great Tower, which is up the hill. Looking for a more comfortable week away with the family this time though?
what can be more comfortable than a few nights in Cartmel hut, sleeping in bunks, and mass catering in the barn with cubs zipping above your head on the death slide over the pond. Happy days! We were there in November for Winter Camp with snow in the morning. Cubs can get coats and boots on quickly if the incentive is great enough!

What can be more comfortable than nights away with CUBS Well where do I start ??? Did 10 years of that before migrating to Scouts 18 years ago. Our camps are 'basic' as in just a farmers field - no taps, no toilets. This year will be near Consiton.
Very good site, we went in Septempber last year and had a great time. I have only had a caravan since August last year and found the Hill of Oak fantastic. We went swimming in Windermere with my 5 year old child, it was brill. I will be going back this year again but later on.
The TV cable is just a normal Tv aerial cable, you can get these from the shop on site.
What a fantastic site. Had a great week there last week, but the aerial lead was too short to reach the TV from the 'post' - needed to be about 15m long and the shop only sold 10m ones. Anyway we didn't miss the TV.
Will be back there next year me thinks, as the access to the lake is fantastic for our little inflatable canoe.
