I live close to Loch Lomond and regularily use the A82.
However, when we are meeting up with friends (campers) coming north, we stay and overnight with them at the Luss site.
Yes the road noise is annoying if you are used to not hearing traffic at all.
Yes, even if you are used to traffic noise, then the Fish Lorries coming down the A82 from 5 in the morning onwards, can be annoying.
However, the noises you can get on any campsite necessitate us carrying a packet of Boots Wax Earplugs and these are always handy at bed time and through the night.
We spend more time asleep in the van than on any other activity and a good night's sleep is imperitive to a good camping trip.
Personally I reckon that a packet of Boots Earplugs would be considerably cheaper than driving halfway round the countryside looking for a queiter site. One packet will do 2 people for a two week camping holiday.
