We are thinking of booking up to go to the C&CC site at Rhandirmwyn which is north of the Brecon Beacons, in August but everytime I have mentioned it to anyone they have all said "it always rains in Wales!"  We will be taking our three young children who like to spend the whole time outdoors riding around on their bikes so we don't want to go anywhere where the chance of rain is highly likely!  I know you cannot guarantee good weather wherever you go but would it be an unwise choice to chose this site? 

Your comments would be really appreciated! 

It does rain a bit here but not that much different to the rest of UK...I know I'm biased but it's a beautiful area...   Sarah x

its a lovely location but a long drive to any where.

however the river next to the site is nice for children (Supervised of course) just take wellies they can paddle and play with the rocks. there is a RSPB reserve just up the road by car but it is a nice walk around , we did walk up the crysal mountain when we were there, and our boys were approx 12 years of age.

there is no tv reception there and im not sure about the mobile phone .

i remember we took a computer games console with us just in case.

the site did have a large play field, if its still there. but it is quite hilly going out of the site.

We have had lovely weather the times we have camped in Wales .... except when I stayed at Rhandirmwyn in April a few years ago and it snowed on me. Literally, due to the roof of my Dandy camper blowing up in the wind and the snow came in and pattered on my sleeping-bag.

I agree about the views, I was very struck by how crystal clear the air was too.
