Hi wee trucker
Haven't stayed at Castleward ourselves, but know folk who have, quite a few times.
They tend to be fussy so it must be OK.
Any time we have tried to book there in the past, it has been full.

Castle Ward is a nice wee place, stayed there once and it was fine, but it IS small so as said you need to book.

Springhill I wouldn't be as fussed on, I haven't stayed there but I've visited the property a few times and had a look - it seems that the only places to pitch are on what looks like a glorified car park really. Best to visit and have a look yourself before booking I would say. If someone knows of any other spots to pitch then please correct me

Don't forget the forestries too - Drum Manor is a nice place only a few miles from Springhill. Glenariff looks nice too (haven't stayed there though).

hi all

thanks for the replies, will keep it in mind about castle ward. weve been to springhill before and seen motorhomes in the car park but i thought there was a specific place for tourers...a well.

Drum manor is one of our favs, had a look at glenariffe before but didn't fancy it.

if anybody has any recommendations for sites around the province please post

Hi Stevie

We stayed in Castleward once, it was a nice site we just had a horrible weekend of rain which to be honest made the site a mud bath. In lovely weather it would be a great wee site.  Only problem was the gate getting out, with a rather large van it looks daunting to say the least but is managable!  The facilities are basic and small but the setting is wonderful.  Great for walks, and dog friendly.

Wendy
