We're taking our caravan up to Scotland for my sister and her family to say in for a week in summer. We have friends in Callander and would like to stay with them - unfortunately they're away at the moment, so we can't ask them for site recommendations. Any suggestions for a family friendly site (children aged 10 and 7) in that area of Scotland - decent loo and shower block is a must - and walking/cycling nearby, but nothing else is particularly essential.
Many thanks.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Thanks - the Blair Drummond site has quite poor reviews on here, though - any comments?
To be honest I haven't stayed there but have friends who have a seasonal pitch and we have visited quite often over the last couple of years. I have always found the staff to be friendly and the facilities clean.
Its a pity theres only one review as you are only getting one persons opinion and everybodys idea of a good site differs.
Hi Val.....I believe that Blair Drummond has had a change of ownership recently and is OK for Stirling, but The Gart is a far superior site (Site of the year award a couple of years back) and is right at the start of Callander and the one for you if you want to be close.
Thanks everyone for your advice - she's now booked at the Gart site (which we found is just off the road on which our friends live, so very convenient) for two weeks in July/August. We're all looking forward to it now!!
