Just looked at Lickhill Manor in Stourport and was gob smacked at the prices.

£19.50 mid season with awning

£21.50 high season with awning

I love this site as its only and hours drive away and is always clean.  But aprt from nice clean shower block there is nothing else on site.

I thought sites fees may as froze on last years prices.

We tried there once but they refused us as we had a german shepherd at the time and the owner didn't like them! Struck them off our list there and then!

The credit crunch and the poor rate abroad as caused a rush on bookings for this country, hense the rip off prices at many sites. I for one will not pay it if the price is much higher than last year, start supporting your local CL and CS sites, when the greedy site owners find no bookings coming in, perhaps they will think again.

Hi

I am with the caravan and camping club and will be there in May for £12 for the weekend, big difference.

I have friends who have a tent and think its unfair for them as the the above clubs use sites with no toilets just fields and they acannot always come.

The rallie field is the same price

Why can't they use a porta potti?

When C & C C first started doing rallies there were many tenters who went on them. In those days the caravans didn't have toilets built in either. Both used toilet tents with portable toilets in them.

The rally field at Lickhill has it's own dedicated toilet/shower block.

Because the cost for a small weekend meet would be prohibitive - it would negate the savings made by not using official sites and make the whole purpose of exempted camping pointless.

Is it so much hardship to boil a kettle? Older caravans don't have hot water, and I usually boil a kettle anyway as it's a dear do gas wise putting the hot water on just for a sinkful for washing/washing up anyway. Even when on a site with EHU it's quicker to boil a kettle than put the water heater on.

But I do feel campers are being pushed out by the caravans.

How many sites now do not take tents?

There's also a lot of sites that are tents only.

Where?

Never did my generation any harm, or my kids.

If it's a concern you can buy hand sanitising gel to use instead.

When they are at school, do they always use hot water to wash their hands?

Gosh we camped with four kids, one of whom had had two lots of open heart surgery for years with out ehu. Our favourite sites were the temporary holiday sites where they have no facilities. Baby wipes are great for kids just "train" them to put them in plastic bag hung up in the toilet tent or awning.

Heat doesn't make much difference to bacteria and lidl and most shops make anti bacterial liquid soap and most shops sell the alcohol gel they now use in hospital.

I'm not on about Lickhill manor, I am on about other fields the C & CC may use.  Just empty fields!
