We are looking for somewhere to stay with our caravan over Easter and would like to stay somewhere near Eastbourne.  Has anyone stayed at any of the following?  Done a search and nothing comes up.  Sharnfold Farm, Stone Cross, Pevensey or South Heighton Farm, Newhaven or The Stables, Pleasant Rise Farm, Alfriston (a reivew on here for the 40 tent site but not the CL).

I would be grateful if anyone could tell me of their experiences of any of the above sites.  Thank you.

Newhaven is a bit of a drive if you want to be next to Eastbourne and nothing much there, Alfriston is a lovely village again about 20 minutes inland from Eastbourne, Normans Bay has a nice camp site, basic but clean and on the beach, parth of CCC but takes non members, Asda and the Eastbourne Marina just a few miles away and only about 5 minutes from Eastbourne, Pevensey is also nice and there is a couple of good sites there, also right next to the beach and minutes from Eastbourne

Not sure what the rest of the sites are like as only stayed in the one in Normans Bay, know the area as lived there for years....

hi carol we live in newhaven and keep are van at the cl at south heighton in storage.the cl is lovely and about 15 mins drive to eastbourne if you take the caost road via seaford.i would have thougt the cl would be booked for easter by now as its very popular but give them a ring anyway.as for the cl at alfiston its very nice better than south heighton but yet again i bet its already booked for easter by the way the 40 pitch site is right next to the cl and they do take large groups of kids eg scouts guides ect on it thats what as always put us off staying there as they have to walk past the cl to get to the loos.if theres any vacancies at south heighton id go there

Hi seanthefridge, thanks for all the info.  Still got to book something up for Easter but guessed I would not get any more replies after leaving it a couple of days I rang Sharnfold.  I hadn't realised at the time of posting that they have a website and it looks nice.  Unfortunately cannot take us at Easter but I now have late May bank holiday sorted, booked for then.  Rang the site at Alfriston and left a message.  A very nice man rang back but said unfortunately full for Easter.  I was very tempted to book for early May bank holiday but left it.  May be that will be one for August.  Now thinking of the C&CC site at Pevensey but have been there once before.

Will make a note to give South Heighton a try some time.  Thank you very much.

hi carol another thought i had was cider house farm at blackboys page 465 in site directory the cl will probably be booked for easter but as it states in the book the owner has a small site adjacent i bet theyve got spaces on that.its a lovely place just like a large cl no showers or toilets but there is hook up there is reviews of this site on site review page.we have stayed here lots of times over the past five years and so have lots of our friends.if you want piece and quiet this is a little gem they do not advertise the site in any book or mag its word of mouth.we have stayed on both and prefare the bigger site rather than the cl as you get more room.by the way eastbourne is about 20 mins away
