The mutt is coming with us over easter to Ashbourne and we would like to go to Alton Towers for the day. I was wandering if anyone knows of any kennels who do day boarding?

hi, ive not needed to use kennels for a long time now, but i know there are some around here that may do what you want.

try this one, this one or there's this one which i cant find a website for

Tenford Kennels,East Mount, Tenford Lane,
Tean,
Stoke-On-Trent,
Staffordshire
ST10 4EN
Tel: 01538 528064

(which arent too much of a distance from alton towers).  ive no idea if they do or not, but its worth a try.

failing that, might be worth ringing alton towers and asking them if they have any information as im sure you arent the only ones to bring dogs, etc.

Pooliechris - just wondered if you had managed to find someone to look after your dog. We had also thought about taking the kids to Alton Towers but wouldn't be happy about leaving the dogs in the car. Finding kennels or a dog sitter would be the only option. (even then I'll spend all day worrying about how they're getting on!)

Hi and thanks for the reply Angief. We never actually got round to go to Alton Towers. I found out I needed to pass the B+E driving test to tow the caravan and so went away local rather risking a longer journey to Staffordshire. We do intend to go in the future. If you are looking at going to Alton Towers there is a Staffordshire Thrill Hopper tickets which is very reasonably priced and includes two theme parks, a water park and a snow slope day out. http://www.thrillhopper.com/

We were at Parc Asterix at Paris at whit and they actually had day kennels (We didn`t take the dog this time, though). This would be a good idea for British theme parks to adopt

I agree, we always take our dogsaway with us but occasionally it would be nice to be able to go to a theme park in the area. In the US, most theme parks have kennels. Wonder if Legoland Winsdor does cos I know the one in Santa Cruz does. Bet they don't!

Actually Legoland Windsor does have a day kennel - found it early today, it's not widely advertised and they can only take a few but it's there. Totally think theme parks should start doing the same.

If anyone is still looking for doggy day care then I found this -

Hope it helps. Would be interested if anyone has or does use them.

Hi. I posted some time ago about doggie daycare near Alton Towers, but can't remember the details. It's not something we would need living fairly close by. I know there's a flyer at work about them and will have a look tomorrow.

Pete
