Hi we are thinking about a spending several days close to the idyllic Suffolk Heritage Coast - loving the sound of Southwold. I've had a look at some of the sites on the campsite search but looking for some personal recommendations for campsites in this area. We need ehu, would like to be close to but not necessarily overlooking a nice beach, a small childrens play area and perhaps within walking distance of a village with a few amenities. Any suggestions?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
There is a great site at Leiston, nr Aldeburgh (I can't remember the name of it atm)
Also the following which all have reviews on here are all nice sites:
Cliff House Holiday Park Featured Site, Dunwich, Suffolk
Church Farm Holiday Park, Aldeburgh
Southwold Harbour Camping & Caravan Park
Southwold itself is a bit limited on camp sites as it's more of a bolt-hole for those with holiday homes (an affluent area). However, Southwold is home to the best Fish & Chips in the country although you may have to queue for an hour or so to enjoy them
Small family run place, walking distance to village, not exactly near the beach but may be worth you considering.
Southwold is a nice place, but must have the dearest pie shop in the country, cost me over £7 for two pork pies at Pieminster on the high st, admittedly they were very nice.
harbour caravan park right near the beach and only 15 mins to pier and town. near site are fishing sheds what sell fresh caught fish and a woman who rows you across the estuary for 60p and you can buy a pint of smoked prawns on the pier never seen them anywhere else great place , the kids will love the beach and little huts hope you have a great time.
