looking to buy a caravan and keep it on a site in scotland ,we are in glasgow so no further than maybe an hour and a half drive.looking for cheapest fees possible,would prefer to be near lochs for fishing and must have a play area for kids.any advice would be great.ta much xx

Hi Kitty - Well it's quite a few years now since I was in that area but I found a great spot on a site (the only one I think) in Ardentinny.  A short walk from the site and you're on a loch side with picnic tables and toilets. Up on the rocks at the end of the beach you can fish for mackerel and Sea Trout - it's an open loch.  If oyu want to do fresh water fishing that's also possible and you can get a permit from the local warden. There are no special facillities for kiddies like play equipment etc but there's plenty of room for them to play - it might be worth checking out but it is a bit isolated there.  We used to pop back into Dunoon if we wanted a bit of a change with some shops etc.  Don't know what they charge nowadays but it was never an expensive site.  Might be worth having a trip out there in the car one weekend and having a look - you go across on the ferry of course, but hey you live in the area so I reckon you know that already.. lol
