Planning a trip to Weymouth area in August, can't make our minds up between two sites West Fleet/Sea Barn or East Fleet. Reviews are good for both but not too sure which to go for.

Want one that serves us for walking to nearby villages (for pint and pub grub) and beaches/coves etc and with easy routes to coastal paths and close to bus service into Weymouth. We have a four year old so need somewhere kiddie friendly but not too manic.

Originally wanted East Fleet for being able to walk into Chickerell and locality to Coastal path etc, but now being swayed by pool option at West Fleet???.

Any recommendations or suggestions, will be much appreciated.

Regards A very indecisive camper!

We've not stayed on West Fleet BUT have stayed on East Fleet and it's a FANTASTIC site.  No need to walk to local pub (in Chickerell) because East Fleet have their own bar/pub/restaurant on site and it's great.  Very friendly staff, decent food and not too overpriced.  Real ales and cider too - bonus!

You can easily catch the coastal path from the site along the fleet lagoon (beautiful) or walk into Chickerell where you can catch a bus to Weymouth.  In 'high season' the bus actually comes down the lane and picks up/drops off on site at East Fleet!!

Hope that helps?!

Same as Kernow Camper - not been to West Fleet but East Fleet Farm gets our vote .

Fab site, spotless washblock and well maintained park.  I suppose it all depends on how much you want the swimming pool.  But then Weymouth is only a short bus ride with a lovely safe sandy beach if the weather's good and I presume West Fleet's pool is outside?

Decisions, decisions eh.....?

I stayed at West Fleet three years ago, and found it to be a great site.

There's an on-site bar that also serves food and also does evening entertainment. (Didn't use it much, but had a great breakfast on the last morning!)

Have to be honest and say that it will be a bit of a walk to anywhere, but there's plenty to do in Weymouth, and there is a bus that calls at the site as well.

Good luck.

Many thanks fellow campers, think we are going to go with our original plan of East Fleet sounds lovely and a slightly more laid back and relaxed camping option, which is more our thing.

Happy Spring Camping!

We are off to East Fleet in four weeks time, we last went about three years ago, and are really looking forward to going back! Lovely area too.
