Hi i am looking to camp in Cornwall on a nice campsite within walking distance to a surfing beach. A swimming pool would also be good, am i asking too much?

Please help with recomendations, thanks in advance

trevornick is a 10 -15 minute walk through the sand dunes to the beach good surf and lifeguards and they also teach surfing on holywell bay beach, also try the camp site in holywell bay which would be 5 minute walk to beach

watergate bay near newquay it's about a 10 minute walk to the beach and it also has a free minibus service to and from the beach in high season also got a surf school at the beach

Try Churchtown Farm at Gwithian or Gwithian Farm at Gwithian both excellent sites and great surfing with surf school etc but no swimming pool.

St Ives Bay Holiday Park. Walk throught the dunes onto the beach, complete with swimming pool etc.

Loads of sites in Cornwall close to surf beaches, only ever seen about 3 that can surf good though, oh yes and about 3,000,000 posers that cant surf!

When they are not posing on the water they can be seen in Padstow ordering a half moon shaped filled pasrty case!!!

Or buying sailing clothes from Seasalt!!
(Oops, OH has one of those )

Or cycling the Camel Trail.

(All of which I have done, without the surfing. Coz I cant and dont want too either. I'm only poking fun sorry!!)

Well the wana be surfers obviously are not on the internet as only 1 reply, or it may be that as I suspected they cant read, just like they cant surf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Tristram at Polzeath - a two minute walk to the beach!  No pool but not really needed!  Trebellan has an outdoor pool but I guess it's further to the beach.  There are loads of sites - they're probably all booked now!!! Roll on the summer...

The sea at St Ives Bay is lovely and you can walk onto beach from site but when we were there for two weeks 2007 there was hardly any surf.  I loved it but my 18 (at the time) year old hated it because he loves the big surf. At Higher Harlyn you would be close to three beaches; harlyn bay, Constantine and Treyarnon which is our favourite beach.

I second Gwithian farm - walking distance to the sea - lots of surfers use it - no pool but who needs one when the sea is soo near.
