I've read the reviews and it sounds lovely, does anyone have any tips for the site (where to park, and places locally to walk a hyper springer) ?

We go in 2 weeks :)

There is a small dog walk on site, you can also walk off the site and go acoss the main road and walk for about 2 miles and you come to a pretty little village with a ford running through where there is a pub.
You can also walk up the lane between the site and the wildlife park and go for miles across fields along there,
My main tip would be buy an OS map for the area and you can really get out there with your springer and burn all that energy off.
All the pitches on the site seemed lovely to be honest, it really is a lovely site.
The only downside for us was that you couldn't walk into burford really without walking on the busy road which I didn't fancy doing with my 2 dogs nto to mention pushchair! But you can walk in other directions.
Have a lovely stay and enjoy the area, we spend a lot of time around the cotswolds as our best friends live there and love it.

Can't tell you much about the park, but we visit the Wildlife Park as its only 1hr from here - well worth a visit, beautiful and the boys love the bats and walk through lemur enclosure. The gardens are nice too.  You pass the caravan park on the way out of the zoo, it looks fine. Would stay there ourselves, but caravans only I believe.  Have a great time, the countryside is beautiful.

hi there,if you are happy to take the car and then walk Burford itself is a really nice little village, free car park at bottom of high street (on right hand side of road behind church) with nice cream teas in a garden there at weekend. There is a great walk out around the outskirts of Burford up through Fulbrook and fields ending up coming in at the bottom of Burford through water meadows (this walk is no doubt on the web somewhere). Really lovely.
Otherwise drive to Lechlade (about 4 miles the other way) park up over bridge in the free car park by the side of Thames Path and walk along the Thames. You can do a lovely walk along to Buscot on the path where there is a nice tea shop in the village and you can watch the boats go through the locks on the way.

Not been to the site but live localish.

The Coln Valley has fabulous walks and takes you through some very quiet off the tourist track proper Cotswold villages. My youngest used to go school in Coln St Aldawyn, near Bibury and I used to drop her off and walk with a lady and her dogs!  It is stunning.

Take a look here    http://www.countrywalkers.co.uk/thecolnvalley.html   although a maps from the library may be a good idea.

Bibury gets very busy with coaches etc and parking can be bad. If you dont mind missing the trout farm and shops it quietens down ALOT in the evenings!

No probs

its great I have been ordering an OS map each time we go somewhere new this year, we got to explore some great places at Ebury Hill at easter thanks to it,

They do a good range of walking books too, that will tire your springer out! lol

Enjoy Burford, I am sure you will love it.
