Hello all.

Basically I am pretty new to this camping lark. we had a new baby boy in November who is gorgeous, but my 7 year old is in need of some attention!! :-) So the solution is that I am going to take him away camping so we can have some quality Dad and son time together.

We live in telford and I am looking to take him away next weekend, not too far, maybe Shropshire, Herefordshire,North Wales or Staffordshire. I would really like some advice on somewhere good to take him..near a river or lake would be great with ample kids facilities and good bike trails...and some sunshine!! :-)

Any advice would be most welcome.

have a look at some of the sites in north wales 23 there are some great sites there for kids , some even have canoes for hire bike trails to follow , beaches not to far away , can't guarantee the weather though.

I have had a look at the one in wrexham and it looks good. I will be booking for this weekend coming. Spent last night in the tent with Jacob in the back garden, i will admit to cheating and feeding a fan heater in there but all in all we had a good first nights camping in the new tent :-)

i too live in telford and we have boys aged 7 and 9, we tend to take them to shell island or we love fforest fields, hope this of some help, we are looking for something nearer to home, found one
here but not tried it yet.

Have a look at Middle Woodbatch farm at Bishops Castle or Cartref at Ford Heath.  Haven't stayed at either but have listed them for this year.  They get good reviews.  Hope you find something.
