Hello,

Can anyone recommend a lake district on North Lancs Campsite suitable for a family that will let you book ONE night! We have a 13 month old and only want to go for one night to test the water. Everyone I speak to says you have to book 2 nights!

Hello

Not sure how far you want to travel but we have stayed on Beckes Caravan Park when we first got our van. It is situated just off the A66 about 6-8 miles from Penrith. It is OK for 1 night. Maybe worth a try.

Tent or caravan? I can point you to a number for a caravan but know nothing of tents.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Hi

It depends when you want to go.  Of course if you are looking for this weekend, you will have real difficulty as its a Bank Holiday, and there is no need to be flexible as all the pitches will probably be sold anyhow. If you ask about the weekend after they will be more flexible as they will want to fill their pitches even if its just for one night.

We've stayed in lots of sites over night when touring around and apart from August &BH's we have never had an issue.

In the area your looking at Keswick CCC site is fab, with good facilities. I have stayed there for just one night although it was a couple of years ago (The one night not the last visit!)

Lets us know what your plans are an we will see if we can help somemore.

Andie

Caravan Club sites take one night bookings but it depends when you want to go. Most weekends and Bank Holidays will probably be booked up, but I think you can check for late availability on their website. You can also ring the sites direct to see if they have any cancellations. Hope this helps.

I tried to book for one night at the C&CC at Keswick but apparently it was 3 nights only!

You would be better off with a site that doesn't take bookings, e.g. Castlerigg Hall in Keswick or any of the National Trust campsites (Great Ambleside, Low Wray etc). However, they are very likely to be busy this weekend.
