Hi all,
I have a slightly odd request here. I am hitting the big 40 in December, which is a terrible time of year to have a party. Instead I am wondering about doing something bonkers with my family. As Christmas isn't too far away from the actual date (which I might spend in bed anyway) we could go for a winter getaway.
As a dedicated camper, but one who does not cope that well with the cold...I am wondering about a tipi, a yurt, a iron age roundhouse....anything which allows a nice fire in the middle of the structure to keep me warm. I have no compuntion about sending my husband, who doesn't feel the cold, outside to hunt for wood, or even to chop it. He is quite handy like that.
Does anybody know of any tipi/yurt/etc campsites that keep going through the Christmas period?
Has anyone had any experience camping in this sort of thing over winter?
Any advice from hardened winter campers or others will be gratefully received, as well as any alternative suggestions from anybody.
Cheers,
Arwen
