Hi everyone,
just thought I'd post to inform whoever may be interested about my recent experience with Park resorts.
My family and I decided that because my son has his year 6 sats coming up, we'd get away for the bank holiday, chill out a bit and let him have some time off his revision. We looked online, and Parks Kessingland resort seemed a good place to go. As we have a large tent, it measures 8 meters by 9 meters, my wife phoned the park just to be sure that their pitches would be big enough. having been assured by the park, we booked. However, whethe booking conformation came through, the pitch size allocated was only 6 meters square.
We then phoned the park, just in case it was a mistake, this is where it starts to get ugly! The receptionist was no help at all and didn't seem to know her own name, let alone anything about the touring pitches, so we asked, and got through to the touring manager. Now for the ugly part! she seemed helpful at first, but that soon changed, we were told that all their touring pitches were that size, that we should have checked on the website (which I later tried, and found buried in the small print at the bottom of a page), she also toldus that as we had not paid the £50 cancelation insurance, we would no way get a refund and because of my supposed 'ranting' telephone manner, even if we arrived with a smaller tent we would be turned away!
I am still trying to resolve this matter, I eventualy got through to there customer services manager, after many attempts, and them hanging up on my wife and myself on 2 seperate occasions, who is supposedly dealing with my complaint and organising a refund, but 2 weeks later with many phone calls, at my expense, I'm still waiting, and still out of pocket.
I'm sure that the park itself is very good, the facilities and entertainment is what made us waant to visit, however, the attitude of the staff and management let them down, badly. This is one company I'll have pleasure avoiding in the future!
