Hi

I managed to secure two pitches for the next May bank holiday, or rather my friend did.  I had a quick look at their website and it looked great.  However, I am just about to send a cheque off and thought I would have a look at the reviews - they are awful.  The last review was Aug 2008, so I was wandering whether anyone had been more recently and what they thought.  My main concern was a barrage of complaints about the quality of the toilets/showers.  Can anyone help please before I risk sending off  money for a site that will cost me £30 a night for one adult, a dog, and two children (one under 5).

Thanks everyone.

Anyone be to Beacon Hill touring park recently?  I've read the last 2 reviews that seemed okay, compared with last years and wondered if they'd improved ?

The August 08 reviews were awful, maybe because of the weather, but still can't excuse the dirty Wash facilities.

I rang them up to make some enquiries, they seem very helpful and friendly and told me they're in the process of marking their pitches, and seem to have a few places available.  As we're going with another family with kids We wanted to make sure it's suitable.

Thanks.

We went to beacon Hill 4 times last year the last time over the August bank holiday, (when they put five of us on an area the size of 3 pitches) we all said unless they carried out the promised improvements over the winter we would not return this year.
When we were at another site in Dorset in May we popped in and the only changes we could see were some new electric points. The shower blocks had not been touched and the site looked unkept in general.
We bumped into a couple who have a seasonal pitch there who told us that two motorhomes went out for the day and when they returned their pitches had been taken by a group of tents, this is the problem with being too laid back and not marking pitches.
We have been back to the Poole area 3 times so far this year with 2 more visits booked but will not go back to Beacon Hill.
Would rather spend our money on a site that CARES
