anybody know of a good campsite on a cycleway or nearby  preferably in the southern half of Britain

River Valley Holiday Park and Sun Valley Holiday Parks are both in the Pentewan Valley, between St Austell and Mevagissey in Cornwall, and on the cycle trail. Haven't stayed at either, I'm afraid; but we have stayed several times at Penhaven Touring Park which is also on the cycle trail. Sorry, but don't know how to connect to their bits on this website! :-(

On the North Cornish coast, there are quite a few campsites on the Camel Trail, which is a great cycle way.

Isle of wight?? the camping and caravan club site (name escapes me) is alongside the cycleway, the site is good with ourdoor heated pool etc.

Horam Manor camp site at Horam . The cuckoo trail is a great cycle path converted from an old railway line. Can give you more info if your inteterested.

Foxhanger Farm on the Kennet and Avon canal is a lovely little campsite, with cycle paths along the canal - Bath is about 20 miles flat ride away.
