I remember camping in Australia nearly 15 years ago and we sometimes stayed at campsites which had ensuite facilities, ie you parked your campervan or pitched your tent and as well as having electric hook up there was also a small brick building on your pitch which had a shower, toilet and wash basin in. Does anyone know if this kind of thing is available at any UK campsite?
I don't neccesarily want this all the time, we love the camping experience as it is with shower block / toilets etc but was reminded of this the other day and wondered if the idea ever caught on over here. If not I think it would be very popular, especially good if we have another wet summer as always good to have somewhere dry to hang things!
thanks

Hi. There's a caravan site down the road from us that has "en-suite" facilities such as you mentioned. The fees are very very reasonable as they are heavily subsidised by the council and the Government. However, to get a pitch there you have to be qualified in cheap and poor quality asphalt jobs "left over" from a major contract.
