Hi has anyone been to Sandy Balls for the christmas period? My husband, myself and five children would like to go in our tourer, but i would like to know a bit more about the site from anyone who has spent the christmas break there.

What activites / entertainment is availible?

Is there anywhere we can get a christmas dinner?

we haven't stayed at christmas, but did stay last August. we didn't like the site much. the pitch we had was very cramped, toilets & showers large never qued but quite shabby & broken hair dryers, think it'd really cold in winter as not very warm in summer!. They had a cafe & restaurant didnt eat there but food looked ok & the bar/club house served food that looked ok. Bar was always packed never any tables or seats so we never stayed. My biggest gripe was all these activites they advertise are all payable when you try to book kids in, haveing large family we just couldn't afford to do most of the fun stuff (ie t-shirt decorating, jewlery making, face painting).  & the pool (indoor) was quite small for such a big site & again was a bit dated, when we stayed there was 2 hour wait to swim for 1 hour! they operated a colourd band system, & you had to pay to use jacuzzi & sauna!

Not a site i'd visit again, but i know other people that have enjoyed it, although they didn't go with kids!

we went last year at whitsun,again very cramped and everything so expensive.

went with friends so we enjoyed our holiday but not really sandy balls

do bashley have pitches availiable for christmas because it is very nice there and cheaper too
