We are looking for a weekend away in June.  Can anyone recommend a site in Ayrshire or Argylle area.  Nice views and child friendly.  Not too bothered about kids clubs etc just maybe a play area.  A beach would be nice.

Any suggestions welcome!!

Suggest you try a search in the Camp Sites section for 'Scotland' and you will get loads of returns and hopefully find what you are looking for.

Kintyre has many straight onto the beach sites. A bit of a drive, though! Dumfriesshire has many on the beach sites, too! There's Culzean in Ayrshire - walk to beach.

Castle cary near Newton stewart, between dumfries and Stranraer has an outdoor pool, nice pub and lots to do in the area, especially forest cycle routes.

Try Craigie Gardens at Ayr, a CC site and easy walk into town along the river bank.  When we were there the river was full of swans so we dubbed it 'Swan river'  Sad!!  North Ledaig at Oban is lovely too.  It is actually about 8 miles outside Oban, over the Connel Ferry Bridge but the bus stops outside the site.  The views and sunsets (if it isnt raining!) from this site are fantastic!  Enjoy!
