Hi,

Would love to use one of these this summmer but not an experienced camper. Can I really just turn up, or is it best to ring?

Do I have to take the contents of my portaloo homw with me or will there be "sump"?

BTW These forums are lifesaver for the daft.

I think you will find even the basic sites have a tap and elson point,if the site is on here have a look at the facilities that are on the site,it will tell you what the site has.this what they look like below.

The listing will tell you if it's a call first or just turn up.  When contact number is supplied I always let them know I'm coming. 

As for the toilet there is always a CDP point,  Maybe just a manhole but it's there.

Not daft, we all had to start somewhere.

The temporary holiday sites are brilliant. There is usually a rubbish point and a CDP and of course water. The price is usually around £5-8 per unit night and very often there is entertainment laid on for the children and adults. Most you can just turn up on. It will be stated if you need to book. They are far more friendly than ordinary sites.Try one and see, or ring the contact number first for more info.
