Why do I have to book for two nights on C & CC website when trying to book for this Saturday even though the pitch is available? I know that it is "high season" dates but as its the last night of the current "high season" dates surely I should be able to book just one night . Sunday night is " mid season " .
------------- is it straight ?

If you are so sure they have the space, just turn up. There is no policy which prevents you from staying for a single night in high season, it is only that you cannot book. The C&CC, like other site operators have to try to maximise use at peak times, so they cannot afford to have too many one night bookings, which might keep away clients who would stay for longer.
CCC have a policy of not being able to book just one night at weekends you have probably fallen foul of this.

Think that ridiculous, I tried to book online early one Sunday morning for 3 nights starting that night on a Park Resorts site. The online site would not let me so I rang at 9am when reception opened and was told that you cannot book and stay the same day even by contacting them direct and you cannot just turn up and stay the same day!!!! When I enquired why I was told it was to stop undesirables staying on their sites so if you are an undesirable, remember you have book in advance!
