we went to Mandale Farm nr Over Haddon over the last bank holiday.

It's fairly basic - no play area, but set in beautiful surroundings - and 10 mins in the car to bakewell (just don't try the puddings - eurgh!). Even though they were "fully booked" the two fields were only half full.

Seemed to be lots of kids meeting new friends in the family field, plenty of kites and ball games!

we have two 16 year olds and have just stayed at Carsington Fields near Carsington Water in Ashbourne.  lovely water sports facilities there.  campsite lovely - fully recommended. plenty of space there to play ball games and generous pitches with hook ups. short walk to Carsington Water and 8 1/2 mile walk round lake which is lovely. would definitely go back.

last year we stayed at Cottage Farm between Bakewell and Buxton and can recommend this site too although more basic than above. good base for the peak district with walks directly from the site.

A bit further out but I stayed at Hayfield CCC site and can thoroughly recommend it - lots of nice walks around (Kinder Scout if the weather is nice is awesome, the waterfalls can be spectacular), lovely villages nearby and the campsite staff were lovely.

Callow Top at Ashbourne has an outdoor pool and although I've never been has been highly recommended to me by a good friend. It's got great reviews too.

If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules
