I've been given 2 free tickets for Cheddar Caves and Gorge so have decided to combine this with our next camping trip!
Problem is I can't decide between the CCC Mendips site or Bucklegrove. Whilst Buckle grove is cheaper, it has a pub which doesn't really interest me and the noise aspect is not appealling whereas the CCC site looks quite peaceful still has a playground but is more money!
Argh!!
What would you do? (have 2 kids... 10 and 3.)

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Cheddar every time. We stayed there 2 years ago and looked at the other one when we passed it. The road is busy and it seemed quite packed in. It's a bigger site and has statics, so depending on your taste might not seem quite like camping as it should be!
The owners at Cheddar also bake their own delicious savouries and pastries each night, lovely and fresh in the morning. They also sell meat from the farm next door. Couple of nice pubs in Priddy village just down the road.

Hi
We've been to bucklegrove twice now and we love it. Although it has a bar on site we have never had a problem with any noise and we've been there in 2 busy bank holiday weekends. It's all very grown up and civilised not like some sites we have been to in the past! The first part of the site has the statics and mainly touring caravans, however there is a back field which you can't see from the front of the site which has both tents and caravans in which it is nice and quiet. The pool is also another added bonus especially if it rains a lot. It's not huge but never got too busy. Play area is good and there is a safe woodland path which links the two parts of the site which the kids all love. We looked at the other sites in Cheddar as well but went for Bucklegrove because of the indoor pool. Site owners very friendly and at special times of the year organise activities for the children, such as Trick or Treat at Halloween. They always publish these of their web site. I have to stress that the bar and organised activities are not in any way tacky and in your face. All very friendly, gentle and fun! Hope this helps.
We stayed at Bucklegrove and had a wonderful time. We were pitched very near the bar...didn't find it a problem at all. Was not noisy, as previously said, very civilised. They had a quiz for the family, organised games for the kids, donkey rides and a bouncy castle. Pool very small, but suited us fine.
