Hiya you can get a train from Ayr or Largs direct to Central Station. don't know about any campsites in the area but if you try the search at the top of the page.

Hi, not sure exactly where you fancy but there are a couple of sites on the banks of Loch Lomond which arent far to a small town called Balloch which has a direct train link into Glasgow.

One is the C & CC in Luss, i believe you can get a bus from round the site into Balloch. There is also one I believe called Millochry (spelling ??) which is the opposite side of bank, not sure about access from there.

Balloch is only about 8 mile from me!

Why dont you have a look at Bankell farm its in the site search it is based at Milngavie and about 1 mile from station which will take about 15 mins to Glasgow.We stayed there with motorhome and found it very nice lots of campers use it when starting the west highland way.

You could also go to Lomond woods in Balloch about 5 min walk to station and about 30mins from Glasgow.
