Hi, I'm new to all this so be kind !!

I've been looking and looking through the site at various campsites but am at a loss... and thought I would pick your brains (if you don't mind).

I am looking for a family friendly campsite by a beach either on Anglesey OR roughly about 1.5 hrs out of Manchester.  Also looking for a local ish campsite for quick weekends away closer to home (that one doesn't have to be next to a beach) if we decide to just head off on a Friday night on Saturday morning...

Also we have a dog who wants to come too !!

I don't want much do I !!

I know not much to ask !

Hi, there are 2 decent ones i have stayed on in Angelsey. Tydden Isaf which has a private path to ligwy bay and penrhyn bay which is also next to a beach. There are others but they are the only beach ones we have stayed at whilst staying on Anglesey.

Could always try out the infamous Shell Island.

Some people hate it because of the party atmosphere at weekends in the dunes but I like so many others love it to bits.

If you want more peace and quiet then camp towards the harbour, if you like camping in the dunes in secluded areas with a campfire (in approved fire pits only) and dont mind music and noise in the distance (few red wines on an evening act like ear defenders!) then camp in dunes. Dogs are allowed and it has its own beach accessed from a stoned car park or on foot from the tent over the dunes.

Probably within your distance requirements (just outside Harlech, mid wales.)

Also plenty more campsites similar between Harlech and Barmouth that are directly adjacent the beach (or less than 5min drive)

Paul

How's about this one?

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=cae+du&by=sitename

Not the one in Bedgellert (which I'm sure is nice, but it's a long way to the sea), the one at Towyn. You can roll out of your tent into the sea. It's not a sandy beach, but it's a great site.

Lot's of people seem to arrive for the weekend from Shropshire.

I'll be there for a couple of weeks end of July.

Check out http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2193 If you go to their website they say they have a few touring pitches but you will have to phone for details as there are no prices or if they have electric or not. We went past this site a couple of weeks ago as my daughters birthday present was to go for a gallop on a horse along a beach. From the road the site looked clean & tidy and it is about 200m from the beach which is dog friendly, as we have a dog I checked all the signage and the only thing relating to dogs was the usual pick up the poop ones. Although in the Lake District given good traffic conditions I think you could get there in about 1.5 hours, it took us about 2 from Stoke.
