Hi Everyone,

I have had a look at the campsite reviews, but wondered if anyone could recommend any personal favourites on the Suffolk coast. I'm looking for something near to Aldeburgh / Southwold etc, preferably cheap, I don't mind basc. I just want a nice quiet weekend on a site within easy reach to some coastal walks. Oh and I need to bring my dog too!

I have stayed at Cliff House in Dunwich and loved it - in fact it's my OH favourite site! Quite small and parts of it are wooded. There is a pub and restaurant on site (the restaurant gets very busy on a Friday night and often sells out if you get there after 9ish). It is right on top of a cliff but because of the trees doesn't get too windy and it has it's own steps with direct access to a shingle beach. You can walk along the beach to Walberswick but can't get as far as Southwold as you would have to cross the inlet.

Can't remember how much it cost but the site was fab and the shower block was very clean and pleasant. Not sure about dogs - it is right next to the RSPB reserve so you'd best check their website.

We recently did the Bank Holiday at Carlton Park, Saxmundham.  It was our second time here.  Unregimented, lots of space and ideal dog walking.
