We regularly stay on Looe CC site.  It's a fantastic site. Most pitches are very flat. There are some hardstandings.  The site is set out in 2 separate areas, one large area (mainly grass) near to the pool and reception (shop) with a shower/toilet block and a smaller section (terraced) with some pitches with sea views - and another separate toilet/shower block.  Both blocks are spotlessly clean at all times. There is a childrens playground and a dog walk on site.

Looe itself is a fab place with plenty of things to see and do.

we went to this site last summer, and I must confess to being very disappointed. We were REALLY unlucky with the weather, as it rained for a huge part of the 3 weeks we were there, so I realise that this may bias my thoughts!

However, the facilities are somewhat tired compared to other CC sites, although I think they are trying to get permission for an overhaul. There are very few hardstandings, and when the grass gets wet, it gets very wet & holds the water. We had mud everywhere.

The slopes are definitely an issue on a number of the pitches - the wardens have some blocks, but make sure you take your own. I also have to say that I found the site pretty cramped - our van backed onto the van pitched immediately behind ours, with minimal seperation. We were told that the requirement for distance between vans only applies to vans parked next to each other......?!!

Having said all that....the pool was great and wardens very helpful. It's in the middle of lots to do, and Looe is a fantastic place to visit. If you've got kids, (or even if you haven't!) you can spend hours 'crabbing' in the harbour.

The photos taken by David (Klyne) must have been taken at a particularly quiet time of year - we wouldn't go again in school holiday time.

Wasn't this site due for a refit last year..... not sure whether it was completed or not??

We used this sit a couple of years ago.Had no problems with the slopes although some of the pitches are a bit iffy.It is not a site you can let children loose on their bike,scooters etc I saw some nasty spills on the road at the bottom of the site due to the lack of efficient brakes.

Have never been to Cornwall. Thinking of going in a couple of weeks before kids break up to Looe area. Will it be really busy? Is it a very commercial area? Do you have to pay to park everywhere you go? Any information would be helpful.
