Has anyone got any recent experience of the Hollybush Inn and campsite in Hay on Wye? I've read a lot of really bad reviews, but wondered if they'd improved at all as a result? Its been suggested by a friend for a reunion. Going to be a mixed bunch, kids from 2-15, plus childless adults, so actually sounded perfect on their website. Does anyone know of anywhere else around Hereford that would be nicer?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Samyjane, we stayed at the hollybush inn last august as the reviews intrigued us. We would not return!!! it has the opportunity to be a wonderful site, but what with what appeared to be a lot of local dropouts living roughish there and the sanitation facilities being awful there isnt alot else to say!! There was a recent article in the hereford times saying that the lady had been fined for hygiene resons in the kitchen!! There are a few nice sites in hereford, poston mill being one that we have used in the past. There is also one over at hoarwithy but cannot remember the name. The boat inn which is also at hay has had money spent on it recently but is only really used for canoeing, as it is right on a main road. Hope this helps, and if i can give you any other hereford information just ask.

Thanks for the helpful info Anthony, doesn't sound like the sort of place I'd like to take my young children to. And point taken about the weather Scarletsfan.
