we've just come back from a camping trip (motor home) to a site just down the coast from Canaerfon (Aberafon) and through the binoculars, I could see the most incredible looking stretches of beach on the south west coast of Anglesey. Stunning golden sands, it looked like The Hamptons! They looked glorious.

I've been trying to find camp sites in the area but not had much luck so far

I don't suppose anyone knows of any good sites around there, near that beautiful stretch of beach?

You were probably looking at Newborough beach by the sounds of it. You could stay virtually anywhere on Anglesey and be at Newborough within 45 minutes.The beach is accessed down a tarmacced road through a forest(fee is charged) Turn opposite a convenience store in the middle of Newborough village. We have recently stayed at Home Farm caravan park just the other side of Benllech,very nice site.

yes, having checked a map it must have been Newborough beach but we're in a camper van so it would be difficult to move off site, that's why I'm trying to find a site near/on the beach.

I don't think there is one, maybe we need to try the NE side, maybe red wharf bay.

White Lodge is at Newborough but I'm not sure how far from the beach.
