Trentfield located near Tuxford was a really good site, we didn't use ehu and was on a rally field but it was excellent! friendly staff, freezers for ice block - couldn't ask for more
Birchwood located in Whatstandwell in Derbyshire was our very first site we camped on. Wasn't bad but we were on a slope and our coffee/tea kept sliding off the table
if you do a search for campsites and type in Nottinghamshire, there are quite a few sites listed and in Derbyshire. Hope this helps.

People say you have to travel to see the world. Sometimes I think that if you just stay in one place and keep your eyes open, you're going to see just about all that you can handle.
loads of carvans but we were in the back field and nothing but tents, was better in our opinion. Shop on site, small swimming pool and a huge playground for the children. Right on the Tissington trail near Ashbourne. a good site in our experience.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We went to Island Meadow during Whitsun, and thought it was fantastic. Ideal for Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and not to far from Brum! It gets some good reviews on here :http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1688
------------- Its only a bargain if you needed it in the first place!!!
Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse have campsite. I'm trying out my Nevada 3 and Intex bed (when I've bought it) there in August with family. Plenty to do in area.
We went last week to Rutland Caravan and Camping Park in Greetham, Rutland. If you've got kids there is a great playground for them. If you haven't there is a separate field for adults only. Very impressed with the site, the staff were lovely and friendly and a fish and chip van calls on Saturday night!
Just come back from a weekend at Birchwood farm in Whatstandwell and it's ideal for children and a good base for exploring Matlock and it's surrounding areas.
Only 45 mins from Nottingham !
If I remember rightly, you have a little one, and Gullivers Kingdom is about 20 mins drive away and is ideal for Children, lots to do and all rides are free once you are inside, though it is VERY HILLY all over the park but don't let that put you off.
