what sort of campsite are you after? there are some lovely , smaller sites with pools, but with out the all singing all dancing that is nodes point and whitecliff bay.
whitecliff bay have recently been bought by hoseasons and they are ploughing money into it, which means that work is in progress. the facilities on the camping field are fab though! the pool (imo) leaves a lot to be desired, and put me off going there again tbh.
nodes point is lovely if you can pitch on the field that leads to the beach. you are well away from the entertainment noise and bustle. but also quite a way from the pool (not as far as you would be at whitecliff bay though)
there is the other side of the island (west wight) which is altogether quieter, and there is a small site with a pool called orchards, in ningwood, which is quaint.
in east cowes there is a site (waverly park) with an outdoor pool (avoid during cowes week if poss, it is full of locals that have rented out their houses!)
any questions ?? fire away!!!
