Hello once again fellow campers!

I'm in need of some advice from you all!  I recently bought myself a very good second hand 12man, 4 bedroom tent.  It has been up in my garden but just to air out and check for the size.  I can't believe how big it is! We've never taken it away yet but will be soon, providing I can find a site which will take my tent.  It is 27ft x 24ft.  Ideally I would like to camp in or around Harrogate as this will be my 16week old babies first camping trip and I want to be reasonably close to home just in case!  (we live in Cleveland)  Any sites people can suggest would be great?  I've used the search function but I don't see an option for 'huge tents' :)

Mark.

What's that in meters? Under 7m x 6m? Does that include the guylines?

Trust me, 7m x 6m isn't by any means the biggest tent out there. It's best to keep to a footprint (ie not including the guylines) size of under 8m x 5m for C&CC sites and the majority of others but you won't have major problems, especially if you camp without EHU and can go in the lest constricted tent fields. (EHU pitches are laid out to a grid and give less flexibility.)

Just tell reception how big your tent is when you're booking a pitch. Best in meters though as that's what we're all used to when quoting footprint size.

hi there,

once again I will give this place a plug..

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=woodhouse+farm&by=sitename

its in winksley near ripon which isnt too far from you at all and they have huge pitches and also for the bigger tents - open space for whatever size you have - I have a campus brekenridge which whilst its not small its not the biggest and it fits well inside the pitches they have...loads of room..and its a great site in general..
